But the 121 message service only catches the end of the message which asks you to press now to avoid court proceedings. Therefore this appears to be a Scam and the number should be treated with extreme caution. Fraud SPAM SCAM A Mr. Ford claiming to be from HMRC, telling me that I have an outstanding debt of £545 which must be paid immediately, otherwise there will be a warrant issued for my arrest. I said that I didn't believe this was a genuine call, hung up and then called HMRC but couldn't get through. After an hour and half trying I gave up, but I don't believe they call people from mobile numbers and I know I don't owe anything.

Fraud, Claiming to be from HMRC for partial tax payment. They hung up when I asked them to authenticate themselves and provide me an HMRC phone number to call them back.
