This is my second call the first one I blocked, has as this one been, both calls from people "acting on behalf of diabetes UK" i didn t let the conversation last as I asked where my number was obtained from, the guy said a survey as that s how they get them I must have opted in, I know very well with all surveys I either don t complete or opt out of contact. SCAM Automated message claiming to be from Amazon regarding fraudulent activity on my account. Apparently a transaction of £1499 had been charged to the card linked to my account. Number now blocked!

Fraud The usual "Your BT internet and phone has been compromised and will be cut off in 24 hours" even though I'm not with BT. Followed up by wanting to download remote control access programmes on my laptop. I just feigned interest to leave them hanging on as long as possible; whilst they are hanging on waiting for me they aren't scamming somebody else.

Called me I googled it because I’m too smart for them and it turns out it’s a loan company trying to take advantage of people being in desperate situations during lockdown and crimbo coming up. It’s easier to cancel crimbo that take a loan out and struggle later so I won’t need you to call back assholes.

Same thing happened to me with this number! Sounded like a party and they were laughing and shouting for approx 3 seconds then they hung down.

SCAM Received call with recorded message purporting to be from HRMC, saying something about fraud and my account. It didn't sound at all genuine. The recorded voice sounded fairly cross and ended with 'If you don't press 1 you will be arrested immediately'.

SCAM: Phone rang and then caller, a computer, hung up when I didn't speak! Suspected computer call trying to sniff out voice lines. If you answer then the line is detected as 'a voice line' and will usually be logged or routed through to a sales person. You'll be called back later by some sales dude. They're usually trying to flog or get you to sign up for house insulation or some scam survey based on a government scheme. They're usually quick to say they're not selling, simply enquiring; surveying; etc.
