Unknown caller rand 4 rings then hung up. Don’t have in my extensive phone book unanswered.
Told me his name was Vitali and he was calling because i had a problem with my router and that i would need to swap to a talk talk one (I m not with talk talk). He tried to get me to do stuff on my computer and told me it was full of errors. Not very happy when I called him out on it. He gave me Virgin Media s sales number when i asked him for his number as i didnt believe him. But 1471 told me he called from this number. Watch out.

This number called with message about "every house needs to be done by 2016" plus "we are in your area" last week - some solar panel scam. Didn t answer - the message is recorded on my answerphone. Same message from 01316483485 yesterday - same result. This lot have probably rented fake numbers from a major phone company which offers them on its web site. Some firms offer call centres numbers which give the person called the idea that it is a local call.
A female voice claiming to be from Microsoft went through a rigmarole of getting the Event Viewer up. I disconnected from the internet and obeyed. She then tried to tell me that these messages were all about hacker activity on my computer, then asked me to use Run to load Internet Explorer, which I do not have on this computer and I relayed the message "Windows cannot find iexplore". This is a scam number for "Electric Yorkshire". avoid at all costs, they overcharge and try to add extra hidden charges. Calling to cancel, they will refuse to and try to scam you out of giving them more money. Luckily I was wise enough to not give them a penny. Report and block their numbers, they don't turn up either.

This sounds very dodgy from the start but I played along, chatting with a lady with a foreign accent. It's eventually got to the stage where she asked me for my bank account and sorting code, at which point I asked her a very personal question. She then swore at me and hung up. She had mentioned postcode lottery, and assured me that I had won a European holiday and £399 in cash at one point she said the company was called something like travel and leisure.
They called for a finance company claiming the bank owed me money for a misold package deal. Ive never had one and the guy said thats no problem and i would be taken off the dat...

Rang once, couldn t understand name of company but heard PPI, so put phone down, rang back immediately and the male operative said, "Why did you put the phone down", I replied, "Cos I m not interested". He answered, "Interested in what" in an angry tone, so I just said, "In whatever you re selling" and hung up again. The phone then rang again immediately and I didn t answer. Didn t like the tone of the call at all, or appreciate being rung back a further twice.
