Alleged security call from my bank about spurious transactions on my account.
AUTOMATED CALL - SCAM Automated call saying there had been 2 attempts to pay for goods from my card, one of which was over £1000. Saying to complete my debit card details in order to prevent fraud. My bank would never leave a telephone message in such an event, and wouldn't ask for my bank details over the phone. Call was from Eastbourne
Number came with an email looking as if I had bought a TV on eBay which had a delivery address in a distant town. Checked eBay account and cannot find any evidence of purchases. Think it must be a scam. Person who answered the phone seemed very genuine!

I was called from this number this morning claiming to be from my bank. It was a recorded message and not a ‘live’ caller. I was informed there were two suspect transactions from my account and, if they weren’t from me, I should press 1 on my keypad. I hung up immediately, checked my bank account and saw that the transactions didn’t exist so I assume that this was an attempted scam.

Fraud - The caller claimed to be from Currys but I suspect it was a scam. I have bought items from Currys before but there was no reason for a person with a poor English accent to contact me.
Safe number Just spoke to this company. They discussed my current Royal London policy which I have not reviewed before and found that it was no longer suitable. I then spoken to a qualified adviser and have a correct policy to protect my wife and 2 children. Very professional and I am very happy with their service. No hassle, no fees and no pressure.

Caller said they were from Microsoft and had noticed problems with my computer. I told him I thought it was a scam call and blocked that number.

Definite scam. Claimed (falsely) to be Harry from Carphonewarehous3 in London calling because "we have a special offer on new phones today". I live in Scotland, he's calling from London claiming to be a big phone store. They would never ring me like that, nor you either. How could he have got my number legitimately? Recieved call from man with thick accent. Couldn't understand him and he didn't seem to be able to respond to my repeated questions about why he was calling me or where he had got my number. Came up as a roofing supplier number on my phone, although a web search for the number also lists it as an MOT centre. Might be a genuine business, but definitely an unwlecome call.
