Answered the call from a local 0208 number. It was automated voice, claiming that I didn’t complete my return on time & I owe the HMRC back taxes and fine....it sounded like a scam as it didn’t give any specifics - and I know I filed my tax return on time as I got a tax refund!!! However, for a split second I did get worried !!

Usual crap - recorded message about a car crash, and being out thru to her supervisor. When the guy asked me when the crash was, I asked him when he thought it was, as clearly knew something I didn't, and he hung up. Number now blocked (and doesn't receive incoming calls - was going to ask them about their PPI reclaim....)

Man with Indian accent said his name was Ray Hamilton claiming to be calling from HMRC and said I was due nearly £500 in tax rebate. Asked for my card details but didnt give them to him as it is a scam. HMRC wouldnt ring to say you are due a tax rebate let alone ask for your card details on the phone.
