This number claimed to have been calling about my ‘recent car accident’. Out of curiosity of what this woman was going to say I said ‘Which one?’. Straight away she said ‘Ok, we’ll take you out of our system.’ Clearly this call was a scam.

This is some landline from London area, I couldn't find any info for this specific number, but there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. All of them are used for some kind of telemarketing (sometimes also cold calling), seems to be working for non-profit organizations (Cancer Research UK and similar), but in fact nuisance. People did someone answer this number?

There were no less than five calls from this number while I was out. I did not need to be told it was the criminals pestering me again as I have had so many of them. However it was confirmed next day when a call came from a slightly different number, 01614357985. Other sites informed me a large number of people had been called similarly. This number attempted to call me twice today, once at around 10:00 am and a second time at 1:00 pm. I picked up the latter call and the guy wanted me to confirm who I was, I asked for further details (without confirming mine) and the man said his name was 'Arnold' but refused to tell me anything about the purpose of the call. He then got annoyed that I wasn't prepared to confirm my name. I pointed out that his call was unsolicited and rang off.
