She wouldn t say why or give any indication as to what the call was about until I went through a security check. Keep calling, started just after 9am and have called 5 more times by 3.30pm. I have left the call to an answerphone as I don t recognise the number, they are not leaving any message - it goes to the machine, and either you get background noise (call centre?) or silence. I have no catalogue accounts, so they have no reason to phone - from all comments, assuming that this is a scam. I am getting a call guardian phone this month, can t wait to be able to block all the stuff like this. Total nuisance!!

This is a number used by British Gas... generally to gain feedback after a British Gas engineer has visited your property (typically the day after)... Although still annoying, these types of calls are genuine (although I still ignored it).

This number called at 7.20pm but left no message, I ve been pestered by the RAC off an 0845 number for some weeks now, but when I ve answered I politely tell them that I m busy and hang up. I ve noticed that a couple of people have mentioned the RAC on this page so am presuming they re trying to get me from a different number.
