Called on our landline. Recorded message from Bank Security (didn't bother to say which bank). Apparently 2 transactions on my card (which one?!) £300 to Amazon and ..... I gave up at this point as it's obviously a scam. All our banks are based elsewhere so wouldn't phone from a local number and have mobile phones as first contact. Our number is recorded on Telephone Preference service but that doesn't seem to make any difference

Couldn't clearly hear what was said but usual message engineered to put people under pressure while offering a "Press number 1" type option to be put through to scammers most likely. Scam. They ask for personal information and try to steal your card details, acting in a professional manner over the phone call. Never reveal any personal info. Rather ask them to verify what they know about you and perhaps you may have a chance to find out where they got your phone number or data from.
