Claiming to be from virgin media and that they have been getting alerts from our hub and internet speed. Ask to check colour of lights on hub and to use a computer to enter an address so they can check and correct the issue. Dont logon computer or enter the address! Called 3 times in an hour different numbers and difffernt people. Checked with virgin media and its not them!

Initially missed the first phone call so I called back. Some foreign guy answered and said he was from the HMRC and that I was due to pay £1260 from a previous tax audit. I told him that I don't believe him. He then said that if I don't believe him then "someone" would come to my door and take me into custody, LOL. Even though I m TPS registered I keep getting calls (often many times a day) from the same company leaving the message "Everyone now also qualifies for solar panels and external wall insulation. We are UK based and government approved, so press 2 now to speak to an adviser for free." Not always from the same number but always the same message. Asked to confirm details of our free listing which is fine, then starts asking questions how many phone lines, what provider etc, so yet again another cold call probably trying to flog telephone services while pretending to be something else
Had a phone call from them and they seemed to know some of my personal details (well, as far as my phone number, name and 1st line of my address). I asked them who they were and got the response AAC and nothing more than that. The guy was very evasive and when I asked what the call was regarding was just told it was "sensitive information". I told him he had the wrong number and I hung up. I was involved in a car accident about a year ago so they may well have been ringing about that.
