Call cut off when answered. It was an invalid/unknown number when called back. Spam or scam but either way, it's now blocked.
A recorded message informed me that some fairly large debits had been made on my Barclaycard account and that I should press '1' immediately. (I didn't do so.) Checked my Barclaycard account and there is no sign of any such debits. I therefore concluded this was a scam.

SPAM The number seems completely bogus because they called me, and I tried calling them back twice or a number of times first of all withholding my number, and then I tried it from a regular number showing it, and there was no answer either. I answered phone on first ring and got a recorded message saying they were sorry they were unable to contact me ‘at this time’ and asked me to call back or try again later. The recorded message played so instantly that I missed first 4 words and have no idea who it was. This makes me think is was a group call, so I’ll be blocking it

Me: "I'm not prepared to tell you that" Her: "Why? We might have beneficial offers" Me: "Because I didn't ask you to call me and you're asking me questions without telling me anything" Her: "Yeah" Me: "What do you mean, yeah?" Her - Hung up.
Someone "from Microsoft". When challenged about their life choices on attempting to scam people they first denied it and then hung up. If it's important I'm sure they have my email address. ????
