Person on the phone told him he was calling from HMRC, quoted some references that sounded legit, including the details of an arrest warrant because of unpaid taxes... But then when he tried to ask questions, person on the phone became really aggressive... Which only wound my partner up and made him ask more questions. Over the last two days, have received several calls all from different mobile numbers saying the same thing.

I tried to book a room at The Principal Oxford Spires Hotel, Abingdon Road, OX1 4PS, Oxford and called a number 08448542910 indicated on their website. I had to call twice as there was an automated telephone service and no one was able to answer my phone calls. Last month I saw a charge of 1.38 GBP plus VAT on my phone bill!! What a wrong way to make money!! Looks like the hotel is doing that badly so they have to charge potential customers to simply book a room. According to the reviews on the above number

Called from 01527 549490 asking to call this 0845 number - claimed to be from British Gas
national lottery telephone call selling lines for a syndicate. They wanted my bank details asking for my sort code. I refused.
These people keep calling my mobile phone do not who they are, left me a message saying they want speak to me about my Advantis visit I do not think so. I have never given these people my mobile number all what I know they recycle number may be from the person who owned this number.

Said someone was "filing a lawsuit against you, press one now to talk to your caseworker" I ve heard of this scam doing the rounds, I ve now blocked this number and registered it with "Should I answer" app as dangerous scam.
