I was cold called from this number by a female with a distinct Indian accent, who did not announce herself or why she was calling. When specifically asked she said her name was "Caroline" and purported to be from Carphone Warehouse, offering me a new mobile phone contract. However, the first question I was asked was about the phone I am currently using and my mobile phone provider. I had to repeat several times that I was not interested before she got the message and hung up.
Well done BT. This scam has been going for ages and reported but they still love to take their business.

I had a call from Barny White who asked for my husband. I put the phone down, he immediately rang back and said he was from NCPS Nuisance call Prevention Service. He said our are had had a lot of nuisance calls and said as above for ?84.99 he could stop all these calls and after 3 years it would be free. Gave me a number to ring the same as above complainants. SCAM Persistent automated calls claiming to be from 'your internet provider' (immediately an obvious scam as your own internet provider would identify themselves!) then threatens disconnection due to illegal activity on the account. Presume will then attempt to extort money, but don't listen to call beyond the first bit.
