Lady with strong Indian Accent from Virgin Media technical said that hackers had got into my router (a hidden problem that affected other users too, not just me), and wanted to check it for me. I confirmed independently by dialling 150 and entereling my password. I was told that no technician had called my phone today, so it was either a phishing call or some attempt to gain control of my online device(s).

They just phoned my elderly father-in-law on his land line and luckily my husband had just arrived at the house when they phoned. They told him that they were the National Crime Agency and that there had been fraud on his bank account. SCAM Called on my mobile @ 20.00hrs. A Northampton dial code. Caller when questioned was from "the Philipines" looking to see if I qualify for "home insulation" funding. When asked how my phone number was accessed the caller hung up. Had this not been a recognised dial code I would not have answered the call. number now blocked. Also appears on missed calls list from yesterday @ 12.58hrs.
