He offered to renew my van insurance, at a lower cost. My van insurance was not due for renewal yet he had a lot of details about me. However the van he had me as owning was from over 5 years ago, so I guess this is some old hacked database and then a scam to get your money. Received text from this number asking me to pay a £2.70 Royal Mail shipping fee by Sat 27th Feb 2021 or parcel will be returned to sender. Went to Royal Mail website - does not recognise the ref number they added to a link in the text. Think it is a scam.

Tries a scam on your phone number. When I blocked the number, started pestering me on face time. I am registered on TPS, never opt in etc. Couple of weeks ago upgraded with Vodafone and then these scam calls all start up again. Ofcom should tackle the source.
If this really is HSBC s fraud dept they are staggeringly incompetent and l am by no means convinced that it is. Question of whether there has been fraud on my account remains unsolved - l was unable to give the exact year that l opened my account - approx 40 years ago - and so failed my telephone security check . May be genuine, but they asked me to repeat the same information re my account so many times that l was suspicious, and would urge caution

Call centre / SPAM probably. Called me at 08.45 on 9th October. When answered there was just a muffled sounding voice, possibly a call centre?
I managed to keep this caller on the line for about 10 minutes. I was told they were to help with Windows problems. I asked for an address and was given 15 Victoria Street London. The helpline number is 0800 031 4414. The first person was female with a foreign accent and mentioned Las Vegas USA then South East Asia and India when I asked where their base was. This first caller was replaced by someone called Sean. I refused to switch my computer on and accused them of the usual scam regarding theft from

claimed to be from my internet provider-asked me to confirm router was working ok as had received large volume of calls. When I advised I was not at home(despite the fact they had called my landline) heard whispered conversation with a workmate/supervisor,asked to perform the same check on router again I repeated that I was not at home.
