This number is used by Boku, a phone collection service (based in San Fransico, USA - with supposedly Europe wide offices) that collects "subscriptions" from, normally inadvertantly, "subscribing" to on-line adverts, messages and web sites. Boku send you a confirmation text, using this number, to tell you that you have just subscribed again. Call about loft insulation survey - claiming to know information about my property. Fairly civil guy but obviously ignoring the Telephone Preference Service and a misleading script.
This person called stating he was from RBS calling on behlaf of The Service Issue and Voice Team checking the validity of the phone number stating that my numnber had called RBS on numerous occasions. Just be careful people as I don t what this creature wanted.

I always get a call from this type of numbers where a machine will be talking rather than a being. It disturbs me a lot.
Text Message; claiming I was due a Tax refund and to download a form via a link on said text message. Three suspicious things here 1, it came via text 2, it was a mobile phone number and 3, the Tax office have not got my mobile number.
Hal s reply is spot on. If someone sends a text message to your landline and you don t pick up the phone it gets stored for you to retrieve later. This 0795 number is where you collect the message, plus the number of the mobile phone that sent the text. It s not dangerous. All depends on what the text message says, of course - that could be anything. In my case it was someone texting to say Sorry I Missed Your Call. See? Not dangerous.
