From the background noise, some sort of a call centre. I couldn't understand the guy so I asked him to repeat what he said, and he instantly hung up. When I tried to call back to see who it was, BT said "the number has not been recognised". Obviously yet another scam.

Do not trust this number,I called Natwest bank they says not by them.These people are criminals I think. Almost every day they are calling,I don t answer the phone.
This number calls several times a day and has done so for many weeks. From what I can find on the internet, it seems to be based in India and is a scam. We have activated call protect on our landline and hope this will block further calls.
