Flat out Scam text message, claiming a payment was attempted by a new device, well considering I have nothing to do with Halifax, that would be some doing, I'm not wasting my breath trying to figure this one out, it speaks for itself, as follows; "HALIFAX: A payment was attempted from a new device. If this was not you, please visit: halifax.fraudpaymentalerts.com" This was in a clickable link form.

This was a missed call, so I called it back but just got the BT message "you've dialled an incorrect number" so it appears that at today's date, the number is not actually allocated and falsely used to hide the real number - Not sure how they do this and when are BT/Openreach going to stop this happening and clean up their system - the number displayed should be the actual number being used, ok, number blocking is another matter but should only be reserved for private numbers, going to gue
spoke to a manager there called stephanie gale if that is her real name. she did not know what the TPS - telephone preference service - is !! Told her i was on it and she should not be calling as i had my number removed before. she could not explain why they are ringing me again. sounds like a load of kids in a telemarketing office and stephanie is the boss - not too bright but sounded fit so perhaps she has some use. I suggest any calls ask to be put through to her or james cornell is the ceo.
