A recorded message saying "This is BT your internet and Lind Line will cease to operate from today - press 1 to speak to an advisor or 2 to clear". This is an old scam which has reared its head again with new numbers. Do not press either button or you will be charged for the call and can be very costly. Block the number immediately.

Sounds as if it is a bank scam call as it was a recorded message warning me of suspicious transactions to companies which I hadn't used before. As you would expect from a recorded message, it didn't ask for myself or my wife in person or to try & authenticate me.

I received a call from Nationwide Repair centre. I don't even drive so it is blatantly as nuisance cold call.
Made a mistake by answering the call as I have many mates in Edinburgh. Now they just keep ringing (almost 3 times a day).

Caller says you've suspicious transactions on your card, knows your name and last four digits of the card. Asks you to check the balance, in my case without any security questions. Its a trustworthy number as its AO.COM. I bought an appliance recently and they were confirming everything. Unfortunately, the guy was persistent on setting up a domestic and general insurance for £7 a month. Annoying as the appliance comes with 2 years warranty. If I wanted D&G warranty i d go to D&G and get it. Please do not cold call customers pushing for the sale of this its unwanted.

Got an online quote which I rejected as it was exceptionally high. Since then have received silent calls from them even after I called and asked to be removed from their list. Between their pricing and follow up service I would not ever recommend them.

Called my mobile 15:59hs 24 June 2020: automatic recorded voice announced (sic) "Her Majesty Revenue and Customs" which instantly caused me to terminate. this is VERY clearly a scam call as HMRC would NOT use the incorrect term for their own department!
It is legitimate, they ll be calling because you owe them something.
