Call from a telephone blocking service. He asked if I received nuisance calls. I said yes plenty but he didn t understand the irony and pressed on with his script. I asked where he was based. He said 70 Margaret Street London which is the HQ of the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) (Note that the caller was NOT from the TPS). I asked him the name of the nearest underground station at which point he terminated the call.

I have to say, if I picked up a call and they said they were calling on behalf of my bank but couldn t confirm which bank, I would immediately think scam or fake call and I d put the phone down.
