Automated call as soon as we answered the call was disconnencted. Apparrently a large number of such calls originate from this number. Why? It can only be bad news.

Fraud call came in from the number 07951 799 817 they spoke with an Indian accent and claimed to be calling from Microsoft Service. We had been hacked, and it was our duty to Microsoft to allow them access to our PC. When we told them that what poof did we have that we'd been hacked, they got very aggressive and said that it was done to us if we didn't believe them and that it would on our own heads if we lost our money as a result of being hacked. So we put the phone down on them.
My phone filters all calls through call blocker where they have to announce who they before we accept or other actions. This number just hung up even before the screening process so highly suspicious.

Allegedly it is BT detecting suspicious activity on my phone and they will disconnect me. As I am not on BT so this is probably an attempt to get my bank details for fraudulent purposes.

Called and the on my answering, the receiver, definitely a handset not switch, was put down with a clatter.
If the number is blocked some of these calls then get through on an unknown or withheld number. As our doctors and the hospital withhold their numbers and I have someone Ill in my household I just add annoying numbers to my directory under PITA ......aka pain in the a*** or telemarketers. I then have proof of the frequency of calls and I m aware it s them and don t answer the call. Sorry for long explanation but hopefully it might just help someone.

This is a scam caller pretending to be from a Lyca phone provider offering cheap contracts, the company they are pretending to be are Mobiles.co.uk. Steve Star from some company offering legal advice and help. Asked if I d had an accident in the last 2.5 years or if someone in the family had. I asked him for the source of the information on me. He asked me what I meant? I said that if he was saying I had an accident , he must have some information on me and in that case, I had a right to know the source.
