Think it’s a scammer on FB, has hacked into an account on there and pretending to be a widower living in Bedford. The phone is being used in the Preston area. I have blocked before he tries to extract money from me. He will not send current face photo with today’s date in his hand so I know it is a scammer. The FB profile hacked looks very American not Uk. Hope this helps.

I answered it sounds like a call centre then they put the phone down and try and ring on a number with the last numbers different.
Said he was from EE - offering me a 30% discount on my phone bill for being such a good customer- I just had to provide them with confirmation of my details (That old chestnut!). I'm not even with EE. Scam!

Spam call, claiming to be HMRC and that a letter addressed to me has been returned. States legal action will be taken against me and advises to press 1 to speak to one of their officers.
I moved house four months ago. I have a private and protected landline number (used to be called ex-directory). I have a call from this number at 7.15 pm on a Sunday evening??? How and why?? I'll just block it but I shouldn't have to and telephone numbers should NOT be shared by whoever and however my private number was made available.

I receive many such calls but they never leave a message. If a message was left I would respond. If I answered all such calls I wouldn't have sufficient time to run my own business. This is the last time I shall respond in this manner.......if you are not going to leave a message then please don't waste my time and all future such calls will be blocked .....

When they ring , they always get me out of bed, when i look at the number on the phone screen its very close to my area number so i answer , then there's a delay while it clicks and connects to a different part of the world and then a foreign sounding lady always mis- says my name with a long eee at the beginning and there is an office noise back ground . Potential Scam or Fraud. Rings, then upon picking up they hang up assumingly they believe you will call them back, which would probably incur a massive charge of sorts.

"Megan" from "Nationwide Fire Safety" claimed that we had a quote last year (2021) for inspection of 5 fire extinguishers for 89+vat but that has expired, but she can offer us 67+vat for 5 and 5+vat for each new one for an inspection on the 24th of October at our Ashford, Kent address. We have never had fire extinguishers, we moved from Kent over 8 years ago and have never received a quote from this company (which doesn't actually seem to exist!).
