100% a scam. There are a few numbers now calling so many people with the HMRC threat! Please bear in mind that if the HMRC has an issue with you they will write on genuine headed paper. Claim to have got number from national accident register. It is illegal under Privace & Electronic Communications Regulations & Data Protection Act (see ICO.org) to use personal data without permission, irrespective of whether it is on a list or not. I have reported them to ICO. You should too - it is the only way to get nuisance callers fined.

I said I'd already claimed PPI back and he was saying that if I did so before 2013 I could be entitled to more. He wasn't unpleasant but I had to be abrupt in the end to get him to understand I wasn't interested!
