Like all the other comments, this was a recorded message claiming to be from Inland Revenue (I should have smelled a rat immediately at that point - it s HMRC now...) and that I was being sued. Brain not in gear, and in panic, dialled 1, but silence at the other end, then call terminated. I am now so angry. My Mum has been getting calls from this number, same as others report, just silent calls. My Mum s number has been registered with TPS for a number of years now, so this should not really be happening. As such, must be treated as highly suspicious.

I suspect a scam. Added to my phone book memory facility list on phone. Input these nuisance numbers in so they show up on my screen as caller id: ignore1, ignore2, ignore3 etc After a couple of months can delete off phone book memory, by then they have given up if you don t answer.

Received 5 calls from this number on my landline today, 3 calls within 4 minutes, another one 15 minutes later and the last an hour and a half later. I leave the answer machine on, there was one automated message only that didn't inform me of anything. I've wondered why there are so many messages all of a sudden when I've had a quiet few days. I did receive a call from Home Start on a local 01267 number that I answered a half an hour before my first silent call. Maybe there is a link there.

I have had two calls today, which I answered but nobody spoke. Real nuisance. Even when phone was on silence mode, it rang when I was in a meeting. Hope something can be done.
Rang saying they were from Openreach. My landline is cable with Virgin so I wouldn't need to be contacted by them. Hung up on them as probably a scam.
