Called our TPS registered line. Started talking before we had even managed to say "Good afternoon". Demanded to speak to "The owner of the business". When asked who we were speaking to said "UK Distributors". Were told we did not wish to speak to them and we hung up. They immediately rang back demanding to know why we had hung up on them; told them to get stuffed.

James rang me a couple of weeks ago saying we needed to renew our Google Business package with him - thought it was a bit dodgy as we paid a two yr subs with another company a year or so ago. Contacted the bona-fide company and they said its a scam and to prove it to ask him if he knows my Google Business password. Yet to speak to him, so will be doing so!
SCAM: I had trouble connecting Alexa to my 89 Yr old mum's Internet. I saw a website that looked genuine for Alexa Amazon. Foolishly I allowed them to have remote access. They pretended that my mum's Internet had a hidden virus. He remotely went to Amazon and pretended to be surprised when the cost of an Internet protection gadget came around £1000. That's when he offered that Alexa Amazon could do it for £249. He definitely had a script. I was unsure and asked for a phone number to call him back.

Called & said he is from BT Openreach about my internet, which we do not use, first tried to confirm who I am- when I told him we do not have internet in this house he immediately put the phone down on me!!! Telemarketing text pretending to be from an IT academy. Save the number on your phone, then block it. Do NOT reply nor answer any call, or they will take note of your number as good and spread it to other companies.
As for the others, claimed to be from HMRC and said I would be arrested shortly if I didn t press 1. Obvious scam despite the well-spoken English middle class accent recorded in the message played.
