Indian callers are using this number to scam people - acting as BT officials and urging the people they call to switch on their computers so they can either fix your internet connection or help you get rid of a virus. Being extremely PC-savvy, I challenged the caller, at which point they disconnected the call.

This company contacted me regarding my life insurance. Very pleasant person called Matt explained why they were calling and I was happy with that. However, was unhappy about a call at 7pm!

I received several calls from a company called UK Energy Council Utility working on behalf of National Grid. They said that I was basically being overcharged by my current suppliers and asked me for my bill to obtain the supply number. They were very inquisitive seeking information that should have been known. I did not provide the information as they appeared dodgy. I was then told that I should continue to be ripped of by my current suppliers.

They were extremely vague with details and tried to use different technical terms but it made no sense. He didn t call from this number but said we should use it to call him back. He called from 01398 774762 which has also been reported as fraudulent multiple times.
