I’ve never used the card so Halifax must have leaked my details, which is highly worrying. I was suspicious so I called the number on the back of my bank card to be safe but yes this is 100% Halifax’s fraud number. Indian accent saying from BT. Warning I had a virus on my broadband. Tried to get me to share screen. Hung up when I said how could I be sure who they were.

A woman called me today from the Ministry of Justice and said that i was owed thousands of pounds from Barclays bank. She gave me this number to ring and was very forceful that i contact this number to claim my money. She also asked me to provide my bank details for a credit transfer. Do not call this number as it is a scam.
