a Text Message, allegedly form HSBC to inform me that I had authorised a payment to a Mr C Jones and to contact a specified web page if I had not authorised. I have no HSBC account

These numbers are provided by "reputable"service providers and are used (mostly) by independent marketeers on commission from large companies (e.g. BT, Sky, British Gas, etc.) to push products. I do NOT understand why TPS, ICO, or anyone else seems to give a proverbial **** about the nuisance these people are when you have taken every precaution to avoid them.

Disgusting customer service! I have a 2012 vw up and I ve just been insulted with the offer of 500 pounds! They re reason being because there is damage on the back panels, which they already knew about and had already offered me 2100 over the phone. Absolute waste of time all around. I tried calling number back but it asked me to phone a code--- Needless to say I did not call code!! It was an Indian sounding gentleman and I suspect is a cold caller.

Scam. About accident!

The number is a scam. It's registered to Frank Fairhead & Son motor services and they were dissolved in 2011.

callcentre background noise, called about a car accident. I asked how they got my details, they said from "insurance". I asked which insurance company and was told to "shut up" before they hung up. Dialled 1471 and get the number, tried to call it back and get engaged tone
