"Max" tel.no. 01292388212 called my house phone and asked for me by surname. I didn't confirm. He then told me that I didn't have cover for central heating. I said I have his number and will check with the fraud squad before following up. I then politely hung up. Maybe a legitimate cold call; but I wasn't interested to find out.

Believe this to be a scam. They will hang up and leave no message. Several minutes later you will recieve a SMS to say you have a voicemail and to call 22299. This is not my normal voicemail number they have no message.

If you speak then the line is detected as 'a voice phone line' and logged, a scammer will then call you later! If you don't recognize the number calling - DON'T SPEAK FIRST, JUST LISTEN. This number cold called me regarding an ee phone contract. Can't say for sure it isn't legit, but I have my suspicions as it sounded like a foreign call centre and they had no reason to call me. Plus, according to this website, the number belongs to an electrical lighting manufacturer, not to ee. W@nkers!
