They said they were local authority and asked if I needed any repairs, any dampness etc. I asked who had contacted them and this did not make sense. I put the phone down on them. She gave me no information whatsoever and the background was silent.
Claimed to be from currys PC World but hung up Would say this was more dangerous than annoying based on another review. Obviously a scam caller and could easily be believed by an older or vulnerable person.

It was a recorded message with a very polite womans voice stating she was from bank security advising that there was two suspicious transactions from my account one was £300 pound from Amazon and the other was a card transaction from abriad of £1300. The recorded message then asked me to press ONE to speak to an advsor. I hung up the phone immediately and called 1471 the call was timed at 1345 hrs on 26-01-2023,

A spokesperson from BT told us, “We’ll never call a customer to tell them their router or IP address has been compromised or ask for any personal information, including bank details unexpectedly and we’ll never call from an ‘unknown’ number.
Some nonsense about the care/warranty package for my tv, cooker and washing machine. Asked for company name and gave me two different names. Then when he asked for the year I was born, I told him 1900 and he hung up. A voice not quite loud enough to hear properly was talking about charges and disconnected. I called the number back and a different, real voice again very quiet spoke, whilst I was trying to hear the call I could hear a dog barking and so hung up and blocked the number.
