Introduced himself as Matthew Cole. Called me by my first name so he has my mobile number and my name. Said he was calling from Aviva about my Life Insurance. I don't have Aviva Life Insurance I told him. He hung up immediately. SCAM. NOT AVIVA AT ALL AND HIS NAME SEEMED FAKE ALSO. Googled Matthew Cole Aviva nothing came up. DO NOT ANSWER. I m an ex police officer and I can tell you the company is legit, they called me and dealt with my mortgage and several loans I had years ago. They got me some money back and I was very happy with the service they provided. Excellent team of people. All hard working and lovely to speak to. Got ?6,000 back and I was very happy!! They rang our landline and asked to speak to the BT broadband account holder. I said I was the broadband user and then they put the phone down on me. So I have blocked the number.

I received a call from this number today from someone claiming to be NHS Test and Trace but there was no way of verifying who the individual was so I was not willing to share personal information with him. If it is an NHS number then maybe they should send a text beforehand so the recipient knows the identity of the call. This is really important as there are so many phone scams going round and this was in relation to Covid19 where a lot of people feel vulnerable and at the mercy of the NHS.

This sounds very dodgy from the start but I played along, chatting with a lady with a foreign accent. It's eventually got to the stage where she asked me for my bank account and sorting code, at which point I asked her a very personal question. She then swore at me and hung up. She had mentioned postcode lottery, and assured me that I had won a European holiday and £399 in cash at one point she said the company was called something like travel and leisure.

I was called just now by a woman with an Indian accent saying she was from Openreach and that she believed I should be getting download speeds of over 40mbs. She asked me to do a speed test which I did and got 19mbs. I asked how I would know she was genuinely from Openreach. She handed me over to her supervisor. He tried to convince me he was genuine and asked my press Ctrl Windows buttons on my keyboard so he could improve my internet connection speed. I again challenged whether he was from BT Openreach. H

I have a call from this number saying that is from HMRC and I should call them back or my solicitor , I am definitely think that is scam , be careful , don't call them back . If you have any questions , call HMRC in their official number .

SCAM Said they are a credit agent trying to recover an outstanding student loan. Told her I never had a student loan as I didn’t go to university, I went straight into full time employment when I left school. She then got aggressive demanding I pay now or else. So I said I’m handing your number to the police and I have recorded the conversation. Then she swore for a few seconds then hung up.
