Caller said he was from Openreach and my router had reported problems regarding internet speed. I pointed out that Openreach only supply and maintain local connection to the exchange not any service’s. Call was then cleared

I'm an individual counsellor and this person 'Jack' texted me during my Christmas holiday. He pretended to be a client at first, and I responded in case he was a potential client in need. He then attempted to sell me his "automated systems to attract more counselling clients". I hate spammers who prey on therapists' good natures, and who disrespect our vacation boundaries. Don't fall for this.

He said there seems to be some fraudulant activity on my account and I should move all my money into the main account and then he would change all my account numbers and sort codes He sent messages from 08000 123 123 and he confirmed Santander will always use this number as it uses the 123 from their 123 account. Remember: Your bank will never ask you to move money!

Received an abandoned call on 22/03/2023. I called back and they immediately knew my name as they could see my number (despite it being withheld). After much persuasion on my part, they told me they were DIRECT AFFINITY EUROPE and had been given my details by a Hull motor dealer (D.M. Keith) to chase a 'lost sale'. But I had told D.M Keith that my number should never be passed to any third party!

'Chris' told me he was from a Claims Company based in Truro and he was calling about a previous ppi claim that I had been underpaid for. He was quite convincing giving me the company reg no & address so I could confirm he was legit! He knew my address/DOB and the details of my previous claim. The Claims Company only has 2 employees, neither based in London! Definitely a scam beware as he was very convincing and never asked for bank details! I doubt a caller from Russia would be legitimately calling me, any half-witted scammer would mask their number if calling from such a terrorist state, so I suspect that it was supposed to be a masked UK mobile number with too many digits. Whatever, it is an unwelcome call.

Trusted to answer as it's a number local to me. Turned out to be an automated message claiming to be from VISA payments to say that my card had been charged £300 to Amazon and £1100 to Western Union, encouraged me to press 1 to dispute charges. Decided it was going to be a phishing scam and hung up.
