I asked if instead of using the random name I publicly go by if they could confirm my full name and other details but could not. I’ve had several of these “investment companies” calling and fishing for details recently. All have the same “spiel” and follow the same script to their calls, with only the company name having any variations.

I got a call from them after applying for a grant to replace my boiler so it all about energy efficincy . they put me on to british gas who are calling to assess if I am intitled to a grant
This seems to be an automated call, probably some call centre machine (PPI?) testing if the number is alive. In most cases it is just ringing, but with no message. I would not pick it up...
Helpful for me as I needed to reschedule and kept forgetting to ring them.
