I was called by this number at 08:18 this morning by someone claiming to be "Amazon Prime" (recorded message) and invited to be transferred to cancel a subscription ('press 1'). The person then asked for my details and, when questioned, told me that it is not possible to contact Amazon directly or my bank over this. The conversation stank so I discontinued the call.
SCAMScam. 'Christopher' from an 'accident claims line' regarding an accident on (correct date) that was 'not your fault'. This is around the 10th call in a month using same script from different numbers (all now blocked). Other numbers had reports describing similar calls, supposedly to settle claim for percentage of settlement. No mention of my insurance carrier. Received call, recorded message, pertaining to be HMRC asking me to press a number to talk to them about incorrect tax return. I believe this to be fraudulent and that HMRC would not make contact in this manner.
Said it's admiral and wanted to send me documents for personal compensation about accident I had with person insured by them. Money from admiral department to give me as their customer caused the accident!! WTF?! And then he said wrong car model so it's a scam!!
Fraud The claimed to be from my home appliance cover. They tried to get my bank details (even though we are on direct debit so the real provider would already have it). When challenged they called back several times getting more condescending each time. We then phoned our actual cover provider and they confirmed it was a scam call. DANGEROUS.
