01782388500 is a landline and located in Stoke-on-Trent (UK). Calls started on 2 March 2023. This phone block 1782388 is operated by BT.
Told me my credit card had been used in China, automated call, but also said press a certain number or HANG UP if you accept the charges; they DO NOT have your bank details its yer another con, to try to get you to answer their scam line, also used 07457522736.

Received an automated call reporting to be from amazon regarding a suspicious purchase on my account. Amazon do not have my landline number, which is how I received the call.
This number was pretending to beba BT call. It was a nuisance call from a foreign person. As in Asia resident. This person is a hacker. A mind game player, and should not have the right to phone people with the intention of bullying or playing mind games. It is a dangerous call.

The owner of this number is a dope and a fraud. He has a search warrant in his home country, Bulgaria, for 7 years now, and he's been hiding in UK ever since.

Fraud They tried to trick me by saying they are from a winter housing thing. It obviously didn't work considering it's not even winter. I even told her that the number came up as 'Potential fraud' and her defence was "it isn't fraud" it was pretty funny.

Just received a call from this number from an articulate young man who attempted to argue with me when I questioned who he was and shouted over me rather than listening to what I was saying. It was apparently something to do with green energy and saving me money. I said I did not deal with cold callers and asked him not to ring again as he could not save me money as my energy bills are fixed but he said I did deal with cold callers as I had answered the phone! It was altogether a very unpleasant call.

The number was in an email which said it was from a friend (who I've not been in contact with for years) , asking for "help", but it was very much like another email I had just received from someone else saying he was a friend but that was spam. This was a recorded message saying your credit card had been used, (no name, no card reference) for a payment to Amazon and a large payment to an over sea recipient and to press 1, to allow the transaction or 2 to speak to an advisor to stop the transaction. Using 1471 to check the caller number, the number given was a 16 digit number. 0179582197582587. This was definitely a SCAM call.
