Cold call about my accident. which I had several wweks ago. they told me my insurer had contacted them, and when I said < who, AA?> (not the real one), they said yes, they had not my name, or any details and were trying to get info.. beware.

You may be a customer without knowing. I m going to buck the trend here... yes it s D&G, and they had a valid reason to call me. I m sure they probably cold-call too but for me I am a customer already.. and many of you may be too without knowing. My 2 year manufacturer s warranty was 1y manufacturer + 1y exended.. that 1y extended part was supplied by D&G. Guy calls saying I qualify for a refund due to a prior overpayment and that he can help me claim it. I ask where he s calling from, he says "consumer services". Starts asking for my banking details and I have to interrupt him again to ask what company the "consumer services" relates to. He answers with Reactiv Media and the continues badgering me for bank details. I stop him to say I don t recognise the name of the company and if he could remind me what service I purchased from them. He hung up.

Called asking for non-executive Director by name - "it s Johnny from the surveyors at Altus" were the words he used. I walked through to our Director and used the same words. Our Director said he won t take the call as he has no ongoing business with Altus and no imminent need. I returned to Johnny and advised this, to which he said "did you tell him it s a financial matter?". I responded, "No, because you didn t say it was. But he won t take the call".
