Called my mobile, I have an app that tells me if it's a spam call if the number is not in my contacts. This came up as "Suspected Spam - debt collector" - Not sure if it was, I didn't answer. Searched a couple of these sites and the number is not listed anywhere - very odd

The number called my friend and asked "how are you " on WhatsApp we didn't recognise the number so it is now blocked. We know no-one from Russia.

Caller pretends to be from BT alledging illegal access to your broadband. Asks you to download a website Anydesk.com. This shows you suppossedly all the users who are accessing you broadband. Then they ask you to check your bank account and lo and behold someone has taken money from your account. In the next few minutes they show you that you have been credited with a large amount of money. This is to say thank you for helping them track scammers. SCAM - number sent in a text message pretending to be AMEX about a purchase I hadnt made. the text was not from Amex and this number is not an AMEX number

I received a call from this number today saying someone had tried to pay for something on Amazon and with draw £1000 from my bank. It just went off before the call finished so I rang the number back on my mobile. I guy answered but said he had not used his phone that morning.

Scammy soensos. Called twice in a row. 1st time told me it was HMRC and I owed tax, Totalling 1235.00 Told me I needed to set up payment via Google play. It disconnected, and approx 20 min later called back. This time, told me its life insurance, updating my claim and offering me a payout, by paying a fee. Okay. Sure.

Became agressive when challanged regarding legitimacy of call. Then received caller-withheld harrasment & time wasting calls a few minutes after putting the phone down with the 'caller' attempting to change the sound of their voice

Scam number trying to get details from people after sending a fraudulent PayPal money request. They get your phone number at least which they can connect to the phone number you call them on and your name which enables them to clone your identity.

Trusted to answer as it's a number local to me. Turned out to be an automated message claiming to be from VISA payments to say that my card had been charged £300 to Amazon and £1100 to Western Union, encouraged me to press 1 to dispute charges. Decided it was going to be a phishing scam and hung up.

On answering, I got a recorded message saying it was something to do with bank security, followed by a message that was intended to frighten. I hung up, and have blocked the number. Others receiving calls like this might be taken in. What can be done to stop them?

SCAM First I received a silent call from 028 8505 1239 (to verify a working number?) Then within 5 minutes, I started getting whatsapp messages from a very attractive female profile asking when I was going to visit her using the number 07727214429. Looks like a scam to me.

Received a text message from a number displayed as "43723". Text message reads "HSBC FRAUD ALERT: We have held a recent payment on your account for 452.00GBP to J ALIM - REF:B6JX. Please contact fraud on 03301900571 for further assistance." Probably a scam phone number.

SCAM Caller purported to be from BT, worried that a third party was trying to change my IP address from private to public. I ended the call before I discovered whether they were trying to get payment or download software.
