I m sure they probably cold-call too but for me I am a customer already.. and many of you may be too without knowing. Automated call claiming to be from HMRC stating they were taking out a legal claim against me and to press 1 to find out my case agent.
Answering this number gives rise to a recorded message threatening legal action and arrest for tax evasion, and an option to press a number for further action. I rang off, but this looks like a dangerous phishing call that is after personal details (banking details). As it comes from a Westminster landline it should be easy to trace and shut down. It should be investigated by by the police.
