Claimed to be the Halifax Fraud Unit reporting debit card usage.

The number = 01709889223, this number phoned me today (at 13:08 on 1st March 2022) and the caller stated they were from BT OUTBOUND ringing about my telephone. They were indian, male and middle aged, they identified themselves as John Martin. I am ex-directory and my phone is registered with the telephone preference service to block sales calls and unwanted calls. I checked online and the number was listed as Indian and Rotherham based. Calling alleging they're from Currys PC World then mentioning my mobile phone provider and talking about new deals on handsets. Doesn't make any sense at all and totally trying to scam me.

Call claims to be from Virgin Media saying there’s something wrong with your computer. Asks you to sit in front of the computer and tell you there’s something wrong with your IP address which is messing everything up. SCAM

Scam Bank call claiming high transfer amounts from my account.

SPAM A guy with a scouse accent, called up saying he was from Fleetpoint Magazine, sounded very odd, almost intoxicated. Was pressing for information about company vehicles but seemed very against actually explaining WHY he wanted that information. On multiple occasions he asked for different people in the company to ask instead of dealing with me and after many attempts I finally got to the bottom of the nature of his call. A very suspect call. Phone rang and after a few seconds of silence the call terminated. I would never try to phone back in case of the call-back scam which can put you through to a premium number which makes massive charges. This kind of call, even if a genuine cold call, can be very worrying to some people and I abhorr the method.

SCAM Caller said they were from 3 (mobile phone company), said they had a promotion to reduce my bill and asked me whether I am using an iPhone or Samsung phone. I refused to give them details and the caller swore at me then hung up.

Five different agents contacted from the same number in a week, despite our requests for them to remove our number.

The call was made to my landline, Telling me that there had been two payments made on my account £300 to Amazon and one other, which wasn't true cos I immediately checked with my phone Bank app and didn't listen to rest of call I just hung up.

Received a text from this number: “Our driver Simon attempted to deliver your shipment today but no one was home. To reshedule a new delivery date, visit:”. I didn’t order anything, plus the URL link wasn’t working, and there’s a typo in the text too so I assume it’s a scam.

They offered me a 40% discount on my EE bill. I checked with EE and its a scam, nothing to do with EE. They ask some personal questions (which i refused to answer) then send a generic email, Subject 'EE Upgradation' (im not even sure that's a word, is it) saying Welcome to EE, etc, etc. I hung up and suggest you do the same.

A recorded message informed me that some fairly large debits had been made on my Barclaycard account and that I should press '1' immediately. (I didn't do so.) Checked my Barclaycard account and there is no sign of any such debits. I therefore concluded this was a scam.

Someone saying my Amazon account had been hacked and they were from customer services. Tried to get me to log into my bank on my phone.

Another scam caller pretending to work on behalf of tenants.

Pretending to be TPS (Tenant Protection Scheme) saying about receiving a full payout. when quizzed on simple information they would have (like a name for the landlord) hung up. Scam, avoid!
