Received automated call today at 14.30 requesting I respond to suspicious bank transactions with Amazon plus another alleged purchase. i did not respond

This is a scam number with an automated voice concerning an order from Amazon. I do not have an Amazon account. This call is likely from a scamming call centre in India. Not the first time I've been targeted, each time from a different number. I put the phone down. Recommended: programmes by Rav Wilding on BBC iPlayer and repeated on BBC1. His team have viewed such scams. The scammers get into your phone.

Pretended to be from Starling Bank and asked me to confirm a very large online payment. When I refused he became abusive. Sounded quite credible initially and from a well spoken English accent.

Did not identify themselves on the message but it was about an international money transfer on a debit of credit card. told to press 1 to cancel or 2 to speak to an advisor. I treated this as a phishing call, ignored the instruction and blocked the number.

The caller said that they were from the National Grid and needed to change my meter. Apparently it is malfunctioning. This is a prelude to trying to get my bank details I thin; I didn't hold on for long enough to find out.

Randomly called said she was from sky and said our internet is slow. Tried to get us to download and app called quick support. This app allows people to remotely access your phone. Very dangerous as the can get so many details this way. We questioned her and she hung up. Called back and metro express answered, Im guessing this number is used for numerous amounts of scams. Call centre with lot of background noise, delay in acknowledging I'd answered phone. Scam call bt technical, my internet service is compromised by several people, they'll show me how to remove them if I let them have access to my devices. Don't think so!
