Rang twice and hung up. I saw it was a premium number so did not answer. The best way to notice a scam call is when the caller asks for you by surname (which they cannot pronounce) probably because the forename is not mentioned in the records as they see them. Then scammers ALWAYS ask how you are, which is often when they try pulling up more details from the records.

Automated call, possibly a scam regarding cancellation of National insurance number, answered the phone and it was an automated message saying my NI number had been cancelled and to press 1 to speak with an adviser I did not speak to anyone

0203 769 7565 - My elderly mother advised she had received a scam call, claiming to be Sky and calling her by name. Fraud - claim to be from HMRC and there is a warrant for your arrest. They say don't hang up phone call otherwise they will record that you tried to run away from arrest and they will be waiting at your place of residence until you arrive to arrest you. With the pandemic, lots of people have had trouble paying tax, so it might seem real, but this is a scam. They will always give you a chance to work out a payment plan. Avoid, block.

SCAM - Automated message informed me that my BT line had been hacked and that the account would be terminated. Sadly, I'm not a BT customer. I wonder how much pressing 1 would have cost me!
