If you speak then the line is detected as 'an active voice line' and logged as such, a scammer will then be calling you later, and usually using a different number! Was called by this number early in the morning with an automated message regarding an Amazon Prime subscription I had not renewed and was going to be charged £95 because of this oversight. I could press one number to speak to an adviser and another to contest it. I did neither as it was clearly a scam. Interesting that this was a landline - it makes me wonder if they forgot to press 'number withheld'. Would think this could be investigated

A guy called "Henry", thick Indian accent phoning from "Microsoft". I asked him real name and he just swore and hung up. Fake Microsoft scam caller.

Call centre, probably Indian, claimed to be from Virgin ringing to check my internet connection.

recorded message saying my card had been used today for suspicious payments of £300 and £1350 today. Then asked me to press 1to cancel payments and a couple of other options. I terminated the call. Obviously a fraud/scam as no indication of which card was involved.

Voice call reporting to be VISA and asked to press 1, put through to operator who when I asked who was representing said, "F*** you" then hung up.
