Purported to be from Bank security claiming two large sums on my Debit card. Not true.
Just received a call from an Indian sounding chap called Charles . Asked me to confirm if I was receiving a high volume of telemarketing calls, and that he could help. Gave me the 0845 number, and told me to call for a box to plug in to the phone for ?1 something per month. I asked him to hold on for a moment, muted the call, put it on speaker and just left the phone on the desk while I carried on with my work. I called the number which then gave an automated message and a contact number to call, 01582267124. I was put through to a customer service rep and asked politely to be removed from their database. He added my number and fingers crossed I won't be bothered again, although I've blocked their number anyway.
No clue who this is.
A voicemail was left from this number, said to return the call to avoid legal action but no other information....im thinking its a scam

Dangerous scam call pretending to be from HMRC. Threatening immediate arrest for non-existent unpaid taxes unless you give them an immediate payment. Just end the call, don t press any keys and if they leave a voicemail don t call it back. There will be no legal consequences, they re just trying to scare you.
