Cold caller claiming to be "calling from BT" to discuss our telephone lines. A quick google search will tell you this is a company called Jay-Bee Telecom; not BT as claimed.

Call tonight claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service and asking if I received cold calls. A man with an Asian accent on a crackly line in a call centre then informed me that my subscription was about to expire. Clearly a scam so I told him what I thought of him and hing up. The number is not registered - is it not time that the phone companues filtered calls from unregistered numbers to stop this sort of abuse as it is untraceable.

A few days ago I had to call lendingstream.co.uk on my mobile because they had a robot calling my landline several times a day after an ex-lodger who d taken a loan with them.
