I was contacted regarding a Sapphire Magazine subscription following completion of a survey. This number, based in Cardiff. Very plausible female. I foolishly gave them my debit card number. I realised later thus could be a scam and surfed the Internet and confirmed my suspicions! See Money Supermarket threads. I cancelled the bank card immediately. I got an email asking me to ring this number regarding an overpayment on a car insurance policy from 2014. Thinking that it might be a scam I went online to find the customer services number for the company and rang them on that number not 0330 100 7303. It is a genuine email, they gave me my details correctly and then gave me my old bank account details. because I have changed my bank since 2014 they are sending me a cheque in the post instead. Got a call from this number 01743562667 on 26 May at 15:04. No one on the other side, just hung up. Got a phone call the same day from another unknown number from same area (01743562692 at 12:03). Again no one on the other side. Very annoying! I suspect might be someone trying to scam vunerable people during the coronavirus.
