Received a call on my mobile at around 11.30am, and was told I had a refund via PPI from a credit card or loan. Had to ask me which one and from which bank. I have to UK based lenders that I am paying back and missed to payments due to being out of work during the pandemic. Why would my lenders send cold calls from Russia to collect payments when everyother person I have spoken to and all of the call centres have been based in the UK? I got a call from this number and they were obviously trying to get personal information from me. First they asked me to tell them who I was to confirm my identity (even though they claimed to know who I was because they were calling me!). Second they told me that I needed to complete a verification process online by going to a specific website on my computer. The page they told me to go to sounded like a scam and they were trying to get me to fill out more personal information.
Welsh Water checking call out service was satisfactory.
