SCAM / SPAM - a robotic voice, claiming to be ex HMRC and reporting that I had committed a tax fraud! Instructed me to press 1...at that point I disconnected
Got a text message claiming to be from PayPal saying; “PayPal: We have suspended your account due to safety concerns. Please visit our resolutions area in link bellow to regain full access to your account.” Then there was a link which I have not inserted here, looked dodgy. Also, I deleted my paypal account in July so its defo not paypal.

I have had to turn my answering machine off as they leave loads of messages..,, calling at 9pm latest! Last time they called I just picked the phone up and said nothing, no one said anything either unroll was ended! Pain in the ass! Blocked on my mobile!

Scammer - picks a common name (like Julie) and if you know one (as I do) they pretend Julie has a new number and tell you to delete the old number. Then they ask you to send the details i.e. names and numbers of everyone you both know - so they can be scammed (and they will as the scammers will then have names. I sent them details of Mickey Mouse, Donald Trump and the Queen. DO NOT GIVE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS NUMBERS OUT

The voicemail threatens to take legal action against you if you don't phone back but doesn't give you any specific details. I received a letter from Hastings Direct saying my car had been involved in an accident 6 months ago. I got suspicious as it didn t have any details of my car on the form. I called and was told line busy. I hung up after 30 seconds. I wonder how much that cost me. Great scam. Letter got my attention. I m sure my mum and dad would have held on the phone for about 30 minutes.
