Then went on to talk about a maintenance contract to cover the boiler, radiators and electrical supply. I queried several times about his genuine employment by British Gas and he finally hung up the phone.

Kate from "Driveway Centre" phone out of the blue. I asked her who she was & why she was phoning me. She sounded agitated & asked me how old is my driveway. I told her I didn't understand why she was phoning & where did she obtain my number. She said my number has been sold on a list. I then hung up.

Michael from Curry's PC World, telling me about a wonderful limited time deal. DIdn't let him go any further asked how he got my number as I'm not a customer and haven't requested any telemarking calls. He said my network provider had given it to them and named them. Threw me a bit as it was my provider. I asked if he had my name then, he said he didn't know it, so they obviously have obtained a list from somewhere. I hung up at that point.

I didn't do it but I did check with my accounts and it appears to be a scam. As they didnt say which Credit company either. Plus surely they wouldn't use a mobile phone either. Information 07355 118732 sent me a text message. HSBC: Direct Debit successfully set up to EE for 183GBP, if this was NOT YOU call us on 01313785729. I don`t bank with HSBC, but anyway, tried to call the number given. This just rings for a couple of minutes then get a message saying the mailbox is full. Therefore, both the mobile and landline numbers given are SPAM.
