Missed a call to my mobile from this unknown local Nottingham number. Suspicious as I haven't given my number to any but a handful of friends, and my doctor/dentist/pharmacy. No message left. Another caller-trace service says this number was first detected 11 days ago, but there were no reports about it. It was someone claiming to be my daughter saying she had lost her phone and to ring her back on the above number. Daughter was with me at the time she definitely hadn't lost her phone. So in my opinion it was a scam.

SCAM The caller was a recorded message suggesting they were from a Londoon Magistrate and stated that if I choose to ignore this information then my National Insurance number will be blocked and stop working. Safe number I received a missed call from this number but none of the 'who called me' websites had any comments and I wanted to know who had called. As the number is local to me, I took a chance and called them back, It's the Boots Opticians Appointment Booking Centre so it's quite safe. They have written to me several times as I'm due for my eye test but I just hadn't got around to making an appointment. I'm leaving this comment just to let other searchers know who called.

A scam caller called Crypto-something-or-other. Offered me 50 dollars of Bitcoin in exchange for attending some seminar; no doubt the scam is that they try to sell you more junk cryptocurrency. Nobody really transfers Bitcoin in increments as low as $50 because the fees are so high. They knew my first name somehow and ignored the TPS Do Not Call list.
