Claiming to be from UK Tariff and that Sky customers have been overpaying their accounts and they want to check my payments are OK. They asked when I last made changes and as it is a new account I said I hadn't made changes. They asked how long I have had the account and I said I wasn't comfortable sharing that info. He asked why and I said he was calling from a random number and how do I know who he is. He said "Well I don't know. How DO you know who I am, I am calling from UK Tarrif." I hung up.

Pretty sure call was from Sky. Was able to verify person was from sky by asking them information about my account and login on to the online mysky portal and verifying it (correct information about how long I'd been a customer, what my package was, when my direct debit went out and how much it was discounted). Was a phone call to try and upsell products.

Seemed to know the details of a minor accident I was in a few months ago such as the date and my registration number. The line was quite poor but the person claimed that the other party had finally admitted responsibility (FOUND TO BE A LIE WHEN I CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY 10 MINUTES LATER). SCAM Fraud Claimed to be HSBC fraud to check a couple of suspicious transactions and knew the area I was located in. They didn't ask for any secure information but when I called HSBC directly, they had no record of either the call or the transactions on my account.
