got a call said they were from the TPS and they wanted to upgrade but I needed to confirm my bank account details and sort code and expiry date. As if scammers BT sort this out and close them down.

Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. Do not call them back, whoever it is. Tell me why companies still use payed lines for telemarketing (some other reason than scam?) Did someone answer any number of this range?

Had a missed call from this number - couldn't find anything on line about it so called it back - surprise surprise - number not recognised - obviously another scam. Now blocked.

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 2036344xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with energy comparison schemes, government grants, green energy, but also classical PPI, insurance marketing - accident chasers. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...

Immediate update - I got an almost immediate reply to my emails and they say that although this is a one-off £10 charge for a 12-month reminder service for which they make it clear there is a charge (hmmmm) they will process an immediate refund via the Post Office. So easy that one can only infer that they receive many, many requests per day for refunds from people such as me who are totally unaware that they had signed up. Result! I emailed [email protected]
When you ring the number back they don t identify themselves and ask you to leave a message. Sounds very dodgy so be aware.

Seems to be some call centre working for non-profi organisations, already reported in connection with UNICEF/Red Cross/Cancer research/Save children, but hard to say who they really are, you decide... Just be aware. Does someone have some more exact info for this specific number?
